Raster or bitmap, is a different kind of rendering style on how an image can be put on a screen using pixels. Raster images lose their aspect ratio the more it is increased in size, as pixels are not scaling points, they are forced to grow as well (stepping) as you do not get new pixels.

Vector - an angle based on at least 2 points alluding to points in space relative to each other that you can use to create shapes based on their relationship, defined by the angles. Vector images maintain their aspect ratios and will not lose quality, however you are limited e.g. photogenic pictures such as the artwork for posters and shop POS for games like GTA V and Call of Duty: Ghosts

Aspect ratio definition:

The ratio of the width to the height of the image on a television/computer screen

Resolutions that conform to a 16:9 aspect ratio

Rockstar Games has 1 logo but changes per game/area of operation

The BLOCKBUSTER logo hasn't needed to change, with exception of the games logo for the online and in store gaming side, as people will always associate BLOCKBUSTER with rentals on new releases that they missed in the cinema or classics that they want to watch over and over again.

Logos and how they've changed

The Microsoft Xbox and the Sony PlayStation are the most recognizable console names of current times, with the logos evolving through time from the original ideas through to current logos and onward to the newest next gen consoles. Going from complex graphical images to simple memorable graphics that we all know and love. PlayStation's logo has changed a lot over the years being tweaked to try and make it more simple, however Xbox has only gone through 2 transitions after the original but is still recognizable even at a glance as the logo of a company everyone knows.
However Nintendo has 1 logo and everyone knows it, although, it has several logos for it's separate products.
